CompTIA’s XK0-002 exam is designed to measure your technical competency in using Linux operating system. Upon passing this test you will become Linux Certified Professional. This is a vendor neutral entry-level test, which demonstrates that you have basic knowledge in managing and maintaining Linux based clients and servers.
This test prepares your for various job roles related to Linux network administration such as Network Administrator, System Administrator or Network Technician. It is appropriate for you if you have foundation knowledge in installing, operating and troubleshoot Linux based systems. Although there are no prerequisites for this test, CompTIA recommends that you should have six to twelve months of experience in supporting Linux operating systems.
This test consists of multiple-choice questions. There are no case study type questions and the test is not adaptive. You will be required to attempt approximately 98 questions in 90 minutes. To pass, you need a score of 675 on a 100-900 scale.
CompTIA XK0-002 certification certifies professionals having technical knowledge in basic installation, operation, and troubleshooting of Linux operating systems. The XK0-002 exam measures the skills and knowledge of the candidates who can explain fundamental open source resources/licenses, demonstrate knowledge of user administration, understand file permissions/software configurations, and manage local storage devices and network protocols.
The XK0-002 test assumes that the candidates appearing for the exam have at least six months of practical Linux experience. Before taking the XK0-002 test, you should practice the following:
